Back to life, back to reality!

January 4, 2016

This week marks the start of term for us at Trinity and we are certainly hitting the ground running!

Having found out our roles for the next postgraduate opera scenes (22nd April, Blackheath Halls) and with plans to enter numerous competitions this term, I've spent most of my first day back in the library frantically photocopying and printing lots of exciting and challenging music. As it's a new year, I've decided to up the amount of music I'm learning per week to really get to grips with building my repertoire and hope that I can stick to my guns and get my head down - wish me luck!

This week, I'll be rehearsing and performing with the Dulwich Opera company on an exciting concert performance of Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro where I will be playing the role of Barbarina. For a young singer like myself, I am so grateful for the opportunity to work with new and inspiring coaches, directors and singers and can't wait to get to work tomorrow! Performances for this are next weekend, so wish me luck and come along if you're free - tickets on the door ;)

So that's my little update for the start of 2016, watch this space for more!
